Dear Chebeague Community,

We hope you will join with us in thanking Melissa Yosua-Davis for being our pastor for the last seven years. Melissa will be taking a six week leave of absence from November 1 – December 15. Her resignation will be official December 31 and her last worship service will be the Christmas Eve service. We wish her well as she steps into the next stage of her life. Melissa, Ben, Michael and Genevieve will be moving into their newly-renovated home on Firehouse Road in November.

Meanwhile the church is also moving forward. The Chebeague Community Church will continue to be a year-round church and serve the members of the community. Under leadership of the Church Council we continue in transition as an independent church. We will form a search committee to find pastoral leadership. As part of the search process we, the church, have to articulate who we are and what qualities we need in a new pastor.

We will continue meeting on Sunday mornings for worship. The food pantry, book group, Bible study will continue. We have a fundraising supper coming up on Saturday November 5th—everyone’s invited.

We earnestly ask for community input; please talk or write to Council members.
